The 51st Street and Mingo Road intersection is among the worst for traffic congestion in south Tulsa. Traffic congests for most hours of the day, and no-left-turn signs, which were installed earlier in 1982, are in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. The restriction helps motorists travel through the intersection but creates problems for westbound motorists wanting to travel south, as they must travel to Memorial Drive to legally turn south on a major street. The intersection is a candidate for a proposed 1983 street bond issue. Photograph taken November 1982.
