Traffic flow on 31st Street is much improved following a project that widened the street to five lanes between Garnett Road and 129th East Avenue. Prior to widening, traffic often crawled along the street and congested. The new roadway is asphalt with a concrete curb/gutter. The project, which was funded by the 2001 and 2006 sales tax packages, was completed in late 2007. The widening of this section makes 31st Street four or more lanes from Riverside Drive to just east of 129th East Avenue. Photograph taken April 13, 2008.
