In 1988, a new traffic signal was installed at 18th and Main Street/Boulder Drive, which eliminated an outdated traffic signal system and replaced it with a traffic-activated system. This view, looking west, shows the westbound signals with a left-turn arrow. The westbound and and northbound signals (which allow westbound motorists to go straight or left and northbound motorists to turn right, stay green unless vehicles come from one of the two other at which time the signal changes. Pedestrian lights also have been installed at the intersection. Photograph taken April 9, 1988.
