This intersection is located along the former route of U.S. 66 in Tulsa and features wider medians than those found at most Tulsa intersections. The intersection essentially is a three-way intersection, as the south approach, which is about a block long, ends at a large flood-detention pond for Mingo Creek. The approach sometimes is used as a parking lot for people using the pond as a park during non-flood periods. Prior to the 1980 green arrow traffic signal conversion, the green lights on 11th Street were straight green arrows. In the background are twin bridges over Mingo Creek. Photograph taken August 1986.
