The one-time view of grass, weeds and dirt trails on the Mingo Valley Expressway south of 51st Street has become bare dirt. Cranes, machinery and two sets of dirt lanes have replaced the grass, weeds and dirt paths that had graced the landscape since the expressway opened to 51st Street in 1981. The cranes shown are at the MKT Railroad spur bridge, which is having a portion of the south abutment wall poured. Photograph taken Jan. 30, 1988.
