This view is looking north from the south side of the MKT Railroad spur, with the expressway's 51st Street terminus in the background. A bridge will be built over the railroad spur when the expressway is extended later this decade. The northbound bridge at 51st Street, which was built in 1975, remains closed, as there is no roadway to utilize it. A temporary concrete barrier wall funnels southbound expressway traffic to 51st Street. No activity is occurring in the area at this time. Photograph taken December 14, 1985.
