This view, looking north near 59th Street, shows barns, houses, animals and a small tree nursery in the future path of the Mingo Valley Expressway. Upon completion of the expressway, the empty billboard at left will have advertisements. The expressway's present terminus can be seen in the distance, with the 51st Street bridge visible above the two smaller barns at left and the 51st Street entrance ramp (northbound) visible above-right of the distant barns. Right of way is being acquired between 56th and 71st streets through a project funded by the 1983 bond issue. Earlier, the right of way was acquired between 51st and 56th streets, so the dirt mound was built for that section in 1982-1983.
