The 51st Street and Mingo Road intersection is seen at a quiet moment during a weekend afternoon following completion of the widening project. This view, looking north, once featured daily traffic jams about a half mile in length during most afternoons. Two things have reduced traffic jams at the intersection - the widening project and the opening of the Mingo Valley Expressway to 71st Street. In the background is the section of Mingo Road that was widened between 43rd and 51st streets. Photograph taken September 2, 1991.
