The section of 51st Street between Mingo Road and the Mingo Valley Expressway, shown looking west from the southbound bridge of the Mingo Valley Expressway, will be widened to five lanes as part of the 51st Street and Mingo Road project. The expressway now ends at 51st Street, but it is scheduled to be extended to 71st Street by 1990. Eventually, a left-turn signal will be installed at the end of the mast arm shown at right. At the top of the hill in the distance is Memorial Drive, and the street is four lanes from there to Lewis Avenue. The section between Memorial Drive and Mingo Road is unfunded at this time.
