The 51st Street and Mingo Road intersection project will be a key to relieving traffic congestion in this area of Tulsa. The intersection is two lanes and has no-left-turn signs in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. The 1983 bond issue project will widen the intersection to four lanes on each approach with left- and right-turn lanes and widen 51st Street to five lanes between Mingo Road and the Mingo Valley Expressway. A 1985 sales tax project will widen Mingo Road to five lanes between the Broken Arrow Expressway (near 43rd Street) and 51st Street. The project is not scheduled for construction until the late 1980s. Photograph taken September 2, 1985.
