Paving of the northeast quadrant at 31st Street and Mingo Road is under way. The concrete extends from east of Mingo Road along 31st Street to the northeast corner and then continues along Mingo Road's northbound lanes. The intersection, which is the last project to be funded from the 1977 bond issue, will be widened to four lanes with left-turn lanes on each approach. The project also includes widening 31st Street to four lanes between Mingo Road and the Mingo Valley Expressway. A companion project, which is funded by the 1980 sales tax, will widen 31st Street to four lanes from the west side of the Mingo Creek bridge to Memorial Drive. Some preliminary work is under way on this section. This photograph was taken October 24, 1982.
