An eastbound dual left-turn lane and three right-turn lanes will be installed at 31st Street and Memorial Drive to help eliminate traffic congestion at the intersection. The dual left-turn lane should help reduce the long line of vehicles that often backs up into the left through lane by handling twice as many vehicles at a given time. The right-turn lanes will be installed for each direction except southbound, as it already has such a lane. The project, which is funded by the 1980 sales tax, should be built within the next two years. In the background is the recently-completed section of 31st Street between Memorial Drive and Mingo Road. This photograph was taken March 10, 1984.
