The east approach at 31st Street and Memorial Drive, shown looking west, also underwent some major changes as part of the intersection modification project. The westbound left-turn median was rebuilt and shifted to the north from its previous location, which can be partially seen in the outline at left. The old left westbound through lane now is the westbound left-turn lane, and a new westbound right-through lane and right-turn lane were added. The original westbound left-turn lane is under the median. This photograph was taken July 1986.
