Work has begun on installing storm sewers for the new eastbound right-turn lane at 31st Street and Memorial Drive, as shown in this view looking west. The cedar trees on the southeast corner approaches have been removed to allow expansion of the roadway into these areas. The eastbound lanes on the southeast corner also will be shifted slightly to the south to allow configuration for the eastbound dual left-turn lane, as the east approach also will be modified. New traffic signals have been installed, but they are on a timed cycle until the project is complete. This photograph was taken September 2, 1985.
