Paving is nearing completion on 129th East Avenue at I-44, as the roadway needs one more layer of asphalt to match the southbound side. Following this, the section between I-44 and 11th Street will receive a final asphalt overlay. The curbs stop before I-44, and this gap continues to the south approach at Admiral Place, which is just beyond the I-44 bridges. The section through the I-44 interchange will be widened and reconstructed as part of the I-44 widening project through this area in the early 1990s. At that time, the interchange's pavement width will match the curbed sections of 129th East Avenue. This photograph was taken May 15, 1988.
