The 41st Street bridge over I-44 has reopened, and traffic flow has returned to normal at the site. Traffic signals have been reinstalled, and they appear to be the same signals that were there before the bridge closed two weeks ago. The only permanent change is the north bridge railing, which did not have the metal sections reinstalled. Instead, the concrete barrier wall that detoured traffic during the short-lived project now is located on the sidewalk and serves as a bridge railing, which means that the north bridge sidewalk is closed. No reports have been made concerning the bridge's replacement. Photograph taken July 20, 1984.
