Traffic flow is much improved on 41st Street at I-44 following completion of the 41st Street bridge project. The 41st Street approaches are four lanes with a median, and the bridge is six lanes, which includes a continuous left-turn lane for each direction. This design improves traffic flow as compared to the old bridge, which had only four lanes with the left lane being used to go straight or turn left. This often caused traffic jams during peak hours. This view looks east on 41st Street with the west approach in the foreground and the bridge beyond it. Photograph taken January 10, 1986.
