John Mowbray poses with his wife, Catherine Lockton. John Mowbray was born in England on May 24 1823. Catherine Stockton was born in England on May 24, 1819. John's most treasured possession was a cane whose top piece was forged from a piece of a cannon called "Hero," which was employed at the Battle of Wellington. Their son, George W. Mowbray, made a name for himself as a Methodist missionary and an early booster of the city of Tulsa.
