Saturday morning, March 21, 1925, the Tulsa Chamber of Commerce Committee on Agriculture received a car containing 89,259 of the best grape plants ever shipped out of southern Missouri. This was the largest single order ever shipped from the largest grape growing center in the Southwest. Incidentally, this was by far the largest single shipment of grape plants ever sent to Oklahoma. The car was shipped from Neosho, Missouri and contained only two varieties, Moor's Early and Concords. These vines had been sold principally in the communities of Skiatook, Collinsville, Tulsa, and perhaps Inola. A. N. Walker, one of the growers, rode along with the shipment.
