D.A. McIntyre and McLeod in their plane in the 1920s. D.A. McIntyre was one of Tulsa's first pilots when he arrived in 1922. McIntyre purchased an aircraft company and airport facility on East Admiral and moved the operation to the location that became McIntyre Airport at East Admiral Place and Sheridan Road. The 80 acre site housed 3 hangars. McIntyre was active in aircraft sales, service, and repair.
