Chaunchey A Owen was a freighter on the Western Plains in wild Indian Country. He had the first wagon and feed yard in Tulsa, 1882, just north of the Frisco Tracks between Main and Boulder. His wife, Jane Wolfe Owens, owned the first hotel in Tulsa, one block east of his yard.
