The Woolaroc, flown by Arthur Goebel non-stop from Oakland, CA to Honolulu, HI, at McIntyre Airport in 1927. Goebel's flight was sponsored by the Phillips Petroleum Co. of Bartlesville, OK. Phillips was rumored to have developed a secret additive for the plane's fuel to increase distances without having to refuel. The Woolaroc was a modified version of the Travel Air aircraft.
