Tulsa's International Airport, circa 1941. This is third in a series of limited edition pen and ink renderings depicticting Aviation in Oklahoma by award winning Tulsa artist Monte Toon. The drawing shhows Tulsa's bustling airport about the year 1941. Both the American Airline Flagship and the departing Spartan Executive were common sights of the day. From the day the airport began in 1928, when the city fathers signed a stud horse note, the airport has stayed ahead of the times. Today's modern Tulsa International Airport began with the jeg age and continues to be one of the pacesetter airports of the southwest.
