Sawmill in northeastern Indian Territory, early days. Logging was the early industry of commerce here. Walnut logs were floated down the Arkansas and shipped abroad. Oxen were used to move the portable sawmils. Buildings were erected by moving the mills to the location and sawing the logs on the spot sometimes as in early Tulsa, Indian Territory.s
